📝 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Design & Aluminium
    • Ensure your sublimation print is mirrored.
    • CRITICAL: Most sublimation aluminium has a clear protective film on the coated side. YOU MUST REMOVE THIS FILM BEFORE PRESSING.

  1. Pre-Press the Aluminium (Recommended)
    • With the protective film removed, briefly pre-press the aluminium for a few seconds. This helps remove moisture and ensures it's flat, especially in humid environments.

  1. Protect Your Setup & Position Materials
    • Place protective paper (Silicon Paper recommended) on the bottom platen of your heat press.
    • Lay the mirrored sublimation print face up on the protective paper.
    • Position the aluminium item (coated side, film removed) face down onto the sublimation print.
    • Secure with heat-resistant tape to prevent shifting.
    • Place another sheet of protective paper on top of the back of the aluminium.

  1. Press & Monitor
    • Press using the settings recommended above. Adjust time slightly based on aluminium thickness if experienced.

  1. Post-Press Care
    • HOT! The aluminium will be VERY hot after pressing. Use heat-resistant gloves.
    • Peel Immediately: Carefully remove the sublimation paper straight away while the item is still hot.

⚠️ Critical Safety & Success Tips

  • FILM REMOVAL IS KEY: Double-check the protective film is removed. Failure to do so will result in a ruined print and residue on your press.
  • Handle with Care: Aluminium will be extremely hot.
  • Test Thickness: If working with various aluminium thicknesses, a quick test on a scrap piece can save material and ensure optimal results.
